Application from the Gentleman’s Carer

We recently received a request from a Carer to finance a 2nd hand Orcam Reader for a man who is registered as blind, on benefits & lives in Ashford. This equipment allows a blind person to read.

This is the letter that we received from the recipient:

“I would like to thank you and your charity for the donation which allowed me to purchase the Orcam camera and software which allows me to read. I have been blind for sometime and the system allows me to communicate with various media.The pictures enclosed show the apparatus and my use of the system to read a book, and this has allowed me to open and read letters, newspapers and books in daily use now.
This technology has enhanced my whole lifestyle and life in general
