After 2 years of being moved to a number of temporary accommodations, this lady finally has a permanent home. The sitting room has a concrete floor, and the bedrooms have bare floorboards. She is on benefits, and her child suffers from ASD and ADHD. We provided rugs for the 3 rooms.            

This lady, on benefits and receiving vouchers for food, has an 18-month-old and 2 other children. Her fridge freezer broke and was not repairable. We purchased a new one.

A young girl who has aplastic anaemia is the carer for her mother, who has a number of serious long-term medical conditions. She has enrolled on a course at Brooklands College. We provided a laptop to enable her to do her studies.

A lady with stage 3 lung cancer suffered pneumonia, is struggling to care for her 7-year-old son, who suffers from ADHD, and look after their home, which is a one-bedroom flat. She is awaiting PIP but needs help now. We have agreed to pay for home help for 3 months.

This home needs cleaning & decluttering. The occupant, who has several health issues, including agoraphobia, breathing difficulties and arthritis, is on Universal Credits and PIP but has not been able to cope. We partially funded this work.

This family moved into a council property due to immediate safeguarding concerns. The mother’s mattress and one of the children’s mattresses are torn inside, which are causing them back pain and sleep deprivation.  Mother is currently receiving Universal Credit and is also in training. She is doing a health and social care course. We provided new mattresses.

We provided a washing machine to a family with two children. There’s had broken down and they could not afford a new one. The application was made by the school that the children are attending. They are a pupil premium eligible family receiving universal credits.

This lady had a breakdown and had to leave her role. She developed an addiction to gambling, with a further consequence that her ADHD meant she went down a rabbit hole and stopped caring for herself. This in turn, meant she put an enormous amount of weight on. She is now getting support for her addiction, and her family are supporting her with managing her time and finances (she has no money). She is trying to find work in order to pay her bills. She has been referred to Places gym by the Work Well scheme. This will provide opportunities for increased physical activity so she can lose weight. MidasPlus are paying for short-term membership of the gym. She will take over the funding when she has found work.

A vulnerable young person with health issues, living in a challenging space with her mother limiting her function in the home. She is trying to get work and is currently on a 3 day internship. She receives UC and has no funding of her own. We provided mobility aids to enable her to shower.

Application via HomeStart. The family are having issues safeguarding their middle child (diagnosed Autistic) during car journeys. He recently climbed out of his car seat and grabbed mum around the neck whilst she was driving on the motorway. We paid for a 5 point backward harness that could keep her son safe in the back of the car.

This lady is on Universal Credit. In December, she had a debt with council tax, 69p till payday. She had to replace her fridge, and then her washing machine stopped working and needed replacing. We bought her a new machine.

Purchase of a specialised push chair for SEN child to get to school, which is over a mile from home and a specialised SEN buggy which will allow another child with ASD/ADHD be taken out in the community.

Provided a Laptop to be shared by a 6 and 7-year-old, living under special guardianship with great grandparents, to do homework and for a young person living on their own with ASD and anxiety to start one-to-one online courses.

Contribution for a deep clean for a man suffering serious deterioration of his physical and mental health, due to the recent loss of his late partner. Excessive dirt and debris had built up, which he was unable to sort out or clean.

Another deep clean for a 43-year-old woman who has learning disability, spastic Paraplegia, weakness of the leg, tremor and deafness. She is a full-time electric wheelchair user, using her hands to navigate and requires two people to support with transfers using a hoist.

Another contribution for a man diagnosed with ADHD, DAMP, and dyslexia. He is currently experiencing significant challenges with self-care and maintaining his home environment, which has deteriorated to an unsafe and unhygienic condition, with an infestation of fruit flies and a strong odour in the property.

Purchased items for people moving into a new home, often because of abuse. These have included beds, mattresses, washing machines, carpets, essential household items and basic furnishings.

MidasPlus charity are pleased to report that we have successfully funded through the charity the deep clean required for a gentleman returning home after a period of respite care in an extra care housing facility. Upon his return, his home has now been professionally cleaned, ensuring a safe and hygienic living environment.

This gentleman faced multiple health challenges and due to his mobility issues, he was unable to maintain his home independently, leading to significant hygiene concerns, including urine-stained carpets. MidasPlus was able to provide the necessary funding for a thorough deep clean, significantly reducing health risks and improving his overall well-being.

This charity funding assistance has ensured that he can transition back home in a dignified and comfortable environment. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this possible. Your support continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.
